Here is but the tip of the artistic iceberg of my tools that I use to create cats, landscapes, and anything else that comes to mind. I am not choosy about what I pick. This will eventually get me into trouble, however, as I fear some tools may languish while others are used into oblivion, thus making me go out and buy more. It's a habit, I admit, but one I'm not willing to give up. An art store has so many paints, brushes, pencils, pens, erasers, clay and other artistic paraphernalia that would drive the ordinary artist mad. Others who exclusively use soft pastels with acrylic may find their shopping a little easier. I just can't stick with one medium. I love to see where my mind goes when I use a different tool or paint; I've recently combined acrylic and oil pastels and made a lovely sketch. So yes, while it may seem insane to buy so many sketchpads, brushes or paints all at once, consider this. How do you know that landscape is going to look great just with oils? You never know what a good soft pastel can do.
Cheers!
