Any cat that owns a human will do this at the most inappropriate time of the morning. It doesn't matter whether or not the human has a cold, it's having relations with its partner, or if its hung over. There is a time to feed the cat, and the time is whenever it wants food.
Cat lovers understand this. They may not always welcome it, but they understand it. So the human will slowly get out of bed while the cat either continues to stare or meow, whichever behavior will get it going faster. The human will move at a glacial pace, much to the displeasure of the cat, but eventually, the groggy human gets out the food and the dish, dispenses food while still half asleep, then as soon as the feline is satisfied with its breakfast, will return to bed or just take a shower.
If the human doesn't respond, the staring contest will continue.
I just thought I'd pass this handy tip along to all prospective cat owners. Should the Cat Distribution System deposit said furry thing on your doorstep, you will provide sustenance when it wants it.
Hence why this portrait is name "It's Feeding Time, Hooman."
Welcome to being owned by a cat.
Cheers!
